Chelsea Whitby
Chelsea is an intern, completing her master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands. Her prior career was in education, where she has a Master's of Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Tech University. She spent 20 years working with students and families with a special focus on disability, neurodiversity, mental health, and experiential learning. Chelsea's passion for mental health comes from a deep desire to help alleviate suffering and a commitment to the belief that healing is possible. As a dedicated meditation and mindfulness practitioner, Chelsea takes a gentle, embodied, self-compassionate approach to therapy, where she believes that with the right support, the client always has the ability within them to change. She has experience with issues related to parenting/family life, disability, neurodiversity, anxiety, educational concerns/homeschooling, 12-step programs, relationships and communication, spiritual abuse/religious trauma, women's issues, chronic pain/illness, childhood trauma, and mood regulation, and depression.
In addition to her master's degree, Chelsea is receiving advanced training in Pain Reprocessing Therapy, an evidence-based mind-body approach aimed at helping individuals suffering from chronic pain and illness. Additionally, she is a qualified Learning to Breathe instructor, a program rooted in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), designed to support individuals in developing self-awareness, enhancing emotional regulation, and increasing overall well-being.
